Reason for shut down

On june 2, 2007 everyone in runescape was not able to log in. many people said that runescape was hacked. I think it was becaause of a server update. What about you guys?

First of all not all servers were crashed down only the U.S.A servers were crashed down because a storm that messed up the server hedquarters

well they did say they were changing the ways logins work so im guessing they were working on that. Or probably some guy (or gal) messed something up and made the servers crash or something.

I think that they had restart the server

they restart the server so they can do things like remove people that they have banned from the game, cause bots would just stay there forever, plus they had to restock every shop, and lasly remove money
