I think these two softwares are focusing on different field of dangerous. Kaspersky is a very good anti-virus soft, while AVG concern more about spyware. Sometimes they work against the same enemy, but sometimes spyware are not defined as a virus and a virus are not doing the same thing as a spyware. So just install them all :)

HI, I do have a problem that my computer goes into a restart mode after working on it for a while, can this be due to the fact that I have both Kaspersky and AVG9.0 free addition installed?? This only happened after I have had the full Kaspersky installed. Kindly advise. Thank you Peter

Kapersky is the best anti-virus program on the market today according to several extensive tests carried out by many different people and im sure if you searched for it you would find test results somewhere on the internet. Kapersky is not free however but it is cheap in comparison to other suites such as mcafee and norton. Kapersky also offer a complete solution pack which includes firewall, antivirus and spyware protection and i have heard it being highly reccomended on a few message boards and discussion forums. AVG is free thats a good thing about it. The detection rate is not as high as Kapersky but you would not expect it to be because it is free. AVG also has a very basic look and feel about it. It all depends what you want Yiemega, if your willing to pay money for a yearly subscription then you cant get any better than the Kapersky suite. However, if you just want a free antivirus that will keep you secure IF you use it in conjunction with a good firewall and spyware program then i reccommend Avast antivirus, its much better than AVG and is free. My security setup is as follows: Firewall: Comodo Antivirus: Avast Anti-Spyware: Spybot search and destroy Web browser: Firefox with NoScript I have those installed as my main security setup, they are all free and all of them work and work very well.

i think both anti-virus has their own power in handling a virus or worm, for example avg can't detect certain virus but kaspersky can detect the virus, and kaspersky can't detect certain virus which avg can detect. I suggest you to install both antivirus to give more protection to your computer.

are you kidding??? This is a dangerous thing to say to people who unaware that installing two antivirus programs is dangerous due to software conflicts unless you know what you are doing and have the sense to stop, shut down one before opening the other. It is still not a very good idea. Antivirus programs are not the same as anti spyware programs. You can have 8 on your machine, but still you have to shut down any real time scanners before you open up another antispyware program.

I used AVG before and system slows down. I tried Kaspersky and its great. It can detect almost any virus and few false alarms. It user friendly and can scan your system fast. So, ill stick with kas.

Actually, I might be inclined to say that Kaspersky is the best of all antivirus programs. It has a history of being light on resources, it is very well known for being the fastest to update, and it also offers the ability to create rescue disks. These can save you if your system drivers get overwritten by malware and cannot otherwise be fixed.

i think is difficult i used both the free edition and i never had problems with virus infection on the pc when these 2 were installed so i guess they are both good..some years ago avg free edition had a deep scanning and monitoring but i think that even kaspersky or nod for example are good suites to protect your pc even in their free edition..

Kaspersky is a very reputable antivirus, strogn and efficient against every computer threat. AVG is a good free antivirus. They do have a paid version, but in my opinion it is not worth buying. If you want to spend money, buy Kaspersky. If you want to go for free, choose AVG. Either way you will not regret it.

The two anti-virus you denoted here is good. But if you ask me to choose one. I prefer kaspersky than AVG. Because I tried AVG in one year and I notice that it can't remove some spyware and adware...While I used karspersky and found out that all spyware, adware, malware and worm are removed...
