Should Your Rating Go Down When a Discussion Gets Deleted?

I lost two rating points this morning; I don't know why. As far as I know, you get one point if someone responds to a discussion you've started, or if you respond to a discussion, or if your comment gets best response from the original poster. If for some reason a discussion you're involved in gets deleted, you lose whatever points you've gained from it. I don't think this is fair unless you're spamming, posting the same comment repeatedly. If you've posted and people have responded, and the whole discussion gets deleted, everyone loses (as far as I know; correct me if you know otherwise). You've done your job: you got people to respond, or you've continued a discussion. Why should you be demoted?

It's not always obvious which one got deleted either. Sometimes I'll remember a recent discussion, look for it, and find that it's not here.

I lost ratings when my discussions were delted. A lot of people who responded to my discussions also lost ratings because of this.
