Twice this month already I have seen recipes for Peanut Butter hamburgers! (well, one was actually for a peanutbutter turkey burger) Both included articles that raved about this "taste sensation" It does not sound very appealing to me - but I am curious enough to give it a try. The recipe I am using also calls for cilantro and scallions. Have you ever had peanut butter burgers? what did you think of them? If you have not every heard of them, would you be willing to give it a go?

And I thought adding chocolate to chili was odd. What next? Maybe I'll put mashed potatoes in my next lemon meringue pie. LOL!

Oh, this just reminded me of a recipe I found in one of my mom's old church cookbooks... Called Earthworm cookies! You guessed it! It was made with REAL earthworms! Bluck!

i've had it with chicken, and it honestly wasn't too bad.i suppose i'd give it a try at least once. if i didn't like it,i just wouldn't eat it again. i wonder how well the scallions mesh with the taste..

the scallions, minced jalepenos, cilantro, lemon juice (or lime in son's case) all created a savory and moist burger.

Wow. Sounds odd. I'll admit it doesn't sounds very appetizing, but one never knows until they actually try something whether it will be liked or not! I supposed I would taste one if it were available, but I'm not likely to make a batch for fear of wasting the meat and peanut butter! Please let us know what you and your family think of them when you make them!

I see that one puts peanut butter on the burger - the recipe I am using calls for peanut butter in the meat mixture. We are grilling, son just came in to say this was not a good idea. Apparently these burgers really need to be cooked in the pan - they are sticking to and falling apart on the grill. I went ahead and made some veggie kabobs so long as the grill is blazing... using yellow and green summer squash, tomato, onion, green peppers and mushrooms coated with a basil and Parmesan seasoning.

I love turkey and I love peanut butter so I guess I'd have a go. I've heard of cilantro but I don't know what it is. We call scallions spring onions.

nope, I have never heard of peanut butter burgers. It does not sound very tasty and I would probably not even try them. If someone was eaying one and offered me a taste, I might try a little piece, but not to make myself. I would worry they would be as awful as they sound, and I would end up wasting otherwise good hamburger meat.

lol. Well, they were actually pretty good - but not extraordinary. I will probably not make this particular recipe again but I am not sorry that I did it tonight. My son who can not have many fats made the same recipe without the peanut butter or bread crumbs using 96% lean beef. He grilled his alongside of ours and they were excellent. I will definitely be making his variety again. We grilled on charcoal that was infused with mesquite flavoring, a Sam's Choice product. The Veggie Kabobs were superb and everyone devoured them (cept the 5 yr old who just said yuck)

Sounds very interesting. I don't think that I would be willing to try it, but my mother loves peanut butter so much that I will suggest it to her. She even puts peanut butter on top of left over pizza and eats it for breakfast. Grosses me out~

I have never heard of these. They sound interesting to say the least. I would want to try it, I guess. But I imagine getting a bunch of questioning faces if I whipped these up for a BBQ.

I am not really sure if i would want to try this. I have never heard of it before. But it has got me interested to know if anyone has tried them and what they thought. Maybe it would give a satay taste. Sometimes things that dont sound that good end up being really nice. Best wishes to you, modestah
