Do you feed your dog human food? Or do you only give them dog food?

I am actually a strict pet parent. My dog doesn't get any human food whatsoever. My main reason is because she has a sensitive stomach. Any variation in her diet gives her awful gas, which is not fun to experience. I only give her human food when she gets medication. I then hide the pills in peanut butter which she loves.

No, I give my dogs strictly dog food. Occasionally I do cook some brown rice with carrots and meat for them, but definitely not those that i eat...

My brittany spaniel that I have had for about 13 years didn't know what dog food was until last year. I had always fed him the same foods that I ate. When my fiancee and I moved in together last year she started to feed my dog what she fed her dog. Now we give them a mixture of dog food and humane food. Her dog also has a gas problem so we actually watch what we feed him because the smell isn't something I care to experience again.

I routinely save a portion of most every meal I have for my dog to finish off. She's a good dishwasher, that's her job. Is it the best for her? Probably not. But she only has this one life too, if I have to put her through the torture of smelling all these wonderful foods that she will never taste, well that just sound cruel and inhumane. She enjoys the food, I enjoy her and how much easier it is to clean the dishes once she's done with them. Everyone's happy. Minnie Mouse is HOT! filmbuff

Our boxer gets some table scraps from time to time but not too often because she is really bad with gas too. But we also have a coonhound and he dont get human food because my hubby says that it can affect his hunting ability, i dont know if that is a fact or not but all he gets is dog food and he seems completely happy with it.

I have a list I found on a dog food website of the human foods that are bad for dogs and that is all I restrict my dog from. However, she is a pitbull mix and so she has a stomach of steel (as the vet once said) and so her stomach rarely gets upset by human food. Food is one of the biggest things in a dog's life, they love to eat, and I love my dog and want her life to be full of as much joy as possible, so I share everything that I can with her, she loves human food. Her most favorite thing, I think, is coffee, but caffine isn't very good for dogs so she only gets a tiny taste, or on special occasions I will make her her own cup of decaf, with milk and sugar, it makes her so happy!

I am also strict in the food I give to my dogs. I just give her plain dog food and sometimes I add rice and water to it. If she is good on the day i also give her fresh carrots and tomatoes and she loves it. I am a pet owner of a rottweiler. I love my roty. Her name is Gloria.

We used to give my dogs human food from time to time, but we made sure it was pre-approved by our vet. In other words, the vet said it was fine to give our dog veggies from time to time (and rice when she had an upset stomach), but really fatty and salty human foods should be avoided. In other words, we were told to avoid table scraps, but baby carrots and other veggie ends were fine to give her. When we gave her medication, we also loved to hide her pills in peanut butter. Dogs seem to just love that stuff.

My dog has insulin-dependent diabetes, so she's on a prescription diet now. Occasionally she refuses to eat, which is dangerous since she's on insulin; on those occasions I do carefully give her a little people food to entice her to eat.
