Odd thing about my desk...

The strange thing about my desk is that it has a funny way of not having on it what ought to be there (sprouted legs and walked away syndrome)
and yet at the same time it is being loaded with things that do not belong! it is in the dining room and on the pathway to most any other room in the house, so as folks walk by they deposit what they are holding....school books, papers, crayons, toys, hair things, you name it!

I can collect hair things daily from every room it seems. Clips, scrunchies, bands, combs, my brush, you name it, something will be where it ain't supposed to be. Paperwork too. Dining room, lounge room, kitchen, anywhere but in the office where it should be. My lighters disappear into thin air but not matches. (Luckily).
I was looking for my coat last night and didn't spot it and so this morning when I needed it I went to every room, twice, no coat. It's not on the front verandah. How can I lose a coat??
After going outside in the rain and icy cold to tend to the dog and the goat, who's chain needed to be untangled under the house, I remembered that I took it off and hung it very neatly on a hook in the garage. *sigh*

sounds like me!
Son said he put the freezer key back where it belongs. I looked and looked, he looked, husband looked - no freezer key. Checked inside the washer incase he put it in his pants pocket. nope. Started going everywhere to find someone who sells freezer keys. no luck but online where they want to charge $6 just for postage...
Finally I went to one last appliance store and they had them for $5 so I bought one. They said check thru the baggy first to see that it will fit - because if you open the bag you can not return it.
okay did that - yep it is the right shape and size.
I rip the bag open. Yay I can now open the freezer! I try the key in the lock - it fits! then my eye glances to the side of the freezer - on the floor, back against the wall and guess what is laying there?
yup, the original key!

that happens on mine also..not to mention 2 or 3 cats
i usually have to shift before i can work on anything.it's in prime sunbeam location :)

You know, I seem to have some viideo games and library cards and a few other things on my desk that shouldn't be here. I wonder, could they be yours? And by the way, do you have a large number of pens, a stapler, and some sello tape? It no longer seems to be here on my desk where it should be!
