Ok, so lets try to think on our feet is it possible to let our creative juices flow and come up with a short little poem off of the tops of our heads right on the spot? I was thinking about this because I had to do that in a game at a Bridal Shower the other day and it was very difficult.

No, you can't just be the person who will suddenly get a good poem written down. It always depends upon your skills and ability. Each person have different persuassions in life. One could be better in verbal and the other in mental. One can be better in math and the other can be better in doing his speech. It depends upon what ability you have and it also depends upon what you have learned and practiced. We all have different skills. Not all can be the same.

Roses are red, Violets are blue I am at a loss of words What about you? I have written a few poems in my life, but I can't do it if someone asks to write one on the spot. I am usually doing something and it will pop in my head. If I don't write it down then it is gone forever...

lol! That one was cute. I am the same way. I have to write things down right away or my creative moment goes right out the window.

I used to do this a lot in forums and chat rooms, just spew poetry out of nowhere. In the chat room where my husband and I met, I even had a seperate username I used when I felt like spewing poetry into the room, called PossessedPoet. My poem for today: There is silence and there is silence one to cherish one to fear tomorrow when I wake up which will I hear? (Written because right now I have been completely deaf for about half an hour, yay Meniere's disease.)

You didn't start us off with one! Now you want us to do all the work? How about: Do you Haiku? Haiku is generally a three line poem. The first line has 5 syllables, the second line, 7 and the third 5. I am not very good at it, but it is kind of fun. A small bud breaks through The wind coos a lullaby. Spring arrives softly. Not what you did at the Bridal shower, I don't imagine, but it's something different! I would like to hear one of the poems from the shower. I'll bet you had some good ones!

well the poem had to have the names of the bride and groom in it. Ok, I'll tell you what it said. Gina, have ya seen 'a The most beautiful bride, you couldnt do better if you tried. Tim is the groom, they go together like a dust pan and a broom. With the wedding kiss they will seal their bliss Their life will be full of laughter and they will live happily ever after. So that is all I could come up with at the time. You got it out of me. =) lol!

I used to play guitar and compose music and then I had written a few songs to go with the tunes. Initially you have to take a lot of time early on to get the exact words for an idea in your mind and then get words that rhyme with them. However, once you're in the habit it gets easily and comes more freely. Its been almost 4 years since I stopped doing that and just now I tried making up a small poem and it seemed like its just not coming out of my head! There was a giant named Drake His last name was Blake He had a fat young son Jake And when they danced, came an earthquake! LOL

A poem so fast and done on the spot, Not sure I can write one, not even one jot, Will try if I can and see what comes out, Hey looks like I've done it, I wish I could shout. I know it's not good, in fact it's quite bad, but it's the best I could do and it makes me quite mad, You see I thought this would be easy to do, So I guess I'll give up...it's over to you.

I thought that was good. See a lot of times, my problem is when I try to think of a word that rhymes with another word on the spot I go blank. But good job! =)
