are doing.. I mean they have been doing it for some time but it is getting worse. I spent most of this weekend watching TV cause the weather was crappy and I have noticed two things are are really annoying me to no end. Now you have all seen the thing they do with advertising... they want everyone to watch something so while you are watching your movie or show- across the bottom of the screen there will be this adverisement with the name of the show and images of the characters... fine I got used to that but now it takes up half the screen. I forget what channel I was watching but the ad was so big I could not see the show. I was really pissed. I noticed that the Disney channels have been doing it more too. The other thing is the commercials... they are so loud- I have to turn up the volume to hear the movie and when the commercial comes on I want to jump out of my skin. Are any of you noticing this??? I would love to know who to contact (besides each channel) to address this problem. Anyone have any ideas on how to make it stop????

Well obviously I can't comment on your TV as I live on a different continent (LOL!), but certainly I hate adverts and comercials in general, and am glad I live in a country where we actually do have TV channels without commercials! YAY for the good old BBC!! LOL! I don't really watch TV much anyway, but when I do it's almost always BBC, and if there is ever anything on a commercial channel (perhaps a movie we particularly want to see) I always record it, so I can fast forward through the damned adverts!! I do know the sound is always much louder in our adverts too though. Good luck with your complaining:-))

thanks-- it just annoys me that we have to pay for cable and satellite tv and endure this crap on top of it. And if you want commercial free tv you have to pay even more money for SHowtime _HBO and whatever. I do get thte BBC channel - I have never watched it though- I did notice they have a Robin Hood series on there I would love to get to watch but never seem to have the time.

I have not had that problem. The only thing that I have noticed is that they blast up the sound. I suppose they know that everyone gets up and walks away from the tv when the comerical is on. But if you don't, it is very anoying.

I know what you mean. Those things at the bottom of the screen sometimes even obscure information or subtitles you want to read. It's nuts and I don't see way show producers aren't complaining. Commercials are always louder then the show in order to get your attention.

I agree, it is irritating. I wrote to one of the channels once and they claim they can not control the volume. The other thing that is bothering me are some of the shows are starting at 8:58 or ending at 9:01. You set up to record and then realized you missed the beginning or ending because some one was willing to pay for more commercial time in one show or another.

I have also noticed it but since the commercials are the one which r income of the channels and so they do so but it should not irritate audience so much that to stop watching the channel by which they r also loosing an audien so i my view the best way to respond is to send a mail to the specified channel about this if there is no response or same thing continues we can report the related communication authority for this. I think this is the best solution of it.

I sure have noticed them and the part you say about them being so loud affects me the same way. I thought there was something wrong with my TV. Actually I have also noticed a lot of movies on the TV I have to turn the sound up to hear what the actors are saying then when some kind of special effect or action comes on it nearly blows me out the window it is so loud.

This is a big pet peeve of mine too- I hate it! Yes it is Disney that does it alot- They will show other shows in the bottom of what you are watching- I know what is on- I don't need to know what is on later- and we watch alot of Disney- I have a 10 year old- I don't notice too much with other stations- I agree about the commercials being so loud- I also think that as you switch from station to station- the volume varies- WHY?? If I put my television on the volume should remain the same! I think they make tv's like that- I don't have one though- It flippin blows your ear drum out sometimes! I'm not sure how to stop it-
