Have you ever wonder why people always buy dolls for their daughters and car toys for their sons? A friend of mine only have a daughter. She always disagree her husband who always bought their daughter car toys instead of dolls. Her husband said it's what interest their daughter is important that matters, not what the parents'. After that, she realize that it makes sense that it's not what we parents want for the children that matters. It's what the children like as long as it is normal. I think I should agree with that because I can see my daughter interested more in car toys or some other things that she can push forward like car toys. Of course, she plays with dolls too. But she like car toys too.

Because.. in the grand scale of things, we live in a world of where gender has attributes. Girls wear pink, boys were blue. Women cook and clean, men go to work. Girls play with barbies, boys play with cars and action figures. It's senseless, but it's something we all do and actually get used to because it's all around us.
I played with my brother's cars, though I did have a ton of dolls as well but I still went for his anyway. It's funny though, he was never interested in any of my toys. But I don't see anything wrong with that - girls and can play with cars and boys with a doll. Boys can wear pink and girls can wear blue, and women can work and a man can clean a house. It doesn't take anything away from our femininity or masculinity.

Yeah, these days men can do women's and women can do men's. Feminity and masculinity are not supposed to be judge by the attributes. Attributes are just attributes. Having different attributes than usual doesn't mean that you're misplaced. However, I think it's more acceptable for girls play car toys or action figures than boys playing dolls in our society. Thanks for sharing.
