Fixed Marriage

It is a common knowledge especially in Asian countries (I supposed) that many people are searching for better opportunities in life from the United States. Some are resorting to pay a big amount for a "FIXED MARRIAGE" in order to facilitate their migration to the US. Now, would you allow your husband or wife to enter into a similar situation in exhchange for a promise that he/she will get a divorce in the future and that they are just doing it for your own family's good?

uh no!!! I personally could not allow that. What happens if they DONT get a divorce? then what!? ull end up in a screwed up situation. I know people that have done this and it rarely ever turns out good. I dunno, maybe im just being closed minded about it, but thats just how i feel!

I can figure out that you're more of a conservative type, me too I wont allow it to happen especially if it is my wife that is involved. Thanks a lot for your response.

No, of course not! If I were married and we are not in a good financial position, and the only option is for one of us to go abroad, I am quite sure that we will definitely look for other ways to do it rather than for one of us to enter into a "Fixed Marriage."

In general, probably not. It's illegal and both parties can get into all sorts of trouble if they figure out the marriage is fake. The only situation were I can see that I would feel differently is if the person wishing to become a citizen were our family or very close friend. If I had a sister, cousin, or niece who wanted to become a US citizen to create a better life for herself I'd support that & take our chances with the legality of it.

Yes its very much illegal but still many are resorting to it just so they could have easy access to the US. Thanks for your reply.
