Should Paris Hilton be given special priviledge in jail? We Wouldn't.

What do you think?? I was reading an article today that really kind of blew my mind. She doesn't have to be with mass population, no one can take pics of her, and she is in am exclusive area where no one can really get to her. Is she really learning a lesson this way, what makes Paris Hilton drinking and driving less offensive than someone elase doing it? When it comes to thing like this I think it should be a little more equal. Don't you think that if the rich and famouse knew that they would get the same treatment as the average joe just might make them do right? If they get priviledges no matter what they do, what lesson is being learned, and who is really paying for such poor behaviors being re-affirmed? TEll me what you think????

Why should she get special privileges? if it was any one of us they would have thrown us in jail a long time ago, she has been let off these types of thing so many times and it is obviously not doing her any good as she just keeps on doing them again, serves her right having to do her time in jail, what would have happened if she had killed someone while she was driving under the influence would anyone be fighting for her then? I just dont understand why they are being lenient on her time and time again!!! I have no doubt that she will come out of jail and do it again and what will they do to her then????

YOu are so right!! that is the ultimate point that I am trying to make, what will we do next time. We have seen that in cases of celebs and the rich that they don't seem to get it. They think they are above the law. And why do they think that?? Because they are treated like they are above the law.

I don't think Paris Hilton should be given special priviledge in jail! She is an ordianry person like everybody else and I don't think she should be given special treats in jail. The prison guards and anybody should treat to hear exactly likt they treat to an other prisoner. The fact that she have money and she is famous- does not make her better than other people who aren't famous and don't have so much money. Anyway, I have just heard about Paris Hilton and can anybosy tell me why she is in jail and when will she released? Thanks, shay.

She is in jail because she did not show up in court on a dui she had. She will be in jail for 20 something days, it was more but they have shortened her time. She just turned herself in Sunday I think.

i hate giving people special treatments. it's so unfair to any other people. fair justice should be served to all. and for sure, miss hilton will not learn her lessons since she was treated well in jail. she will just do the same mistake over and over again since she knows that she will have special treatment anyway if ever she gets to jail again.

true tendaheart. atleast make her pay and suffer for the faults she did. she disobeyed the law and so, she should suffer the consequences and not be treated as a princess in jail.

That is the whole point, you are right. Why even bother to lock her up if she is not going to get the big picture? It makes no point to me.

If anything I think she and any celebrity/public figure should be made an example of. They are the ones the children are looking up to and for them to get special treatment because of who they are is messed up. I know if it were some average Joe then they would have to spend the entire time in jail with not special privileges.

I totally agree with you. And all we have to do is look at the history of various celebs that have had issues like this or worse. They continue to do the same behaviors over and over again. And what is this teaching that young adult or child that think that particular celeb is cool??

no, no one should have special priviledge in jail. This will spoil our jurisdiction system, and bring unrespect to your country.

you are right,I don't think that a lot of people are thinking of the long term effects on people's views of the judical system.

you're right!she should be treated equally as the average people coz she'd done something wrong. there should be no special treatment coz if there is, then they won't feel how hard it is to be in jail..they might do those things again coz they're special.

what's the point in putting her in jail when she won't feel how bad it is to be jailed, right? if so, she should have been placed in a hotel since she won't feel any difference at all anyway. sad that injustice is too much present anywhere.

your right she is not really learning a lesson this way, but I guess it is suppose to make us feel better.lol.

Nope she shouldn't. Over here in the united kingdom our press mentioned she got a lighter sentence, in fact it was meant to of been halved on the time given to normal people. If in fact the above is true I would be pretty mad because it just makes it look silly. Kudos, ~Joey

you are right! Justice seems to be a real grey area when you look at cases like this one.

It outrages me to see celebrities get off so easy. This situation with Paris is only the beginning. Today, i noticed that she gets to finish the rest of her jail sentence at home. What is the messgae that is being sent here? As long as you have money, you can solve any problem. I have friends who have done less things and got bigger sentences. It is unreal. keep in mind that she is a role model for some people, shucks only knows why but now we are telling the whole world that drinking and driving really isnt that serious as long as you are popular in hollywood. what if she hadve killed someone, then she would have gotten 60 days on house arrest? Cmon now. It is a sad world when a political figure can shoot someone in the face and a rich party girl can drunk drive and they become more poular with the exposure and the slap on the wrist that they recieve.

you are right, but one thing is that society has shown us that regardless there is a diffrence and if you are famouse it doesn't matter, you can do a crim and get away from it.

I think the system is a joke, of course celebrities get special priviledges, she is an heiress to a fortune, this is the way the legal system works for celebrities and by the way she didnt have to take her hair extentions out either, lol.

noohhtt..it is the law she broke and must be treated same as the other inmates...otherwise if the law for the celebrities is different from the common people, she might be getting a different treatment in jail.

I feel she shoudnt be given any special treatment then what is the use of punishment. They should maintain equality when giving a punishment.children are growing up by seeing these people ,what affect it will have on children i think government should think on it.

I Nthink she should be doing all the time she was given but they allowed her some time off her sentence because shes paris hilton. Why should she be treated better than anyone else who does a crime.I say put her in with they other inmates and let her see the real prison ways. She will get special privilleges and her time will go so quick so she will not learn a thing from this experience. It must be good to be filthy rich and get away with whatever you want.I say leave her there

I could not have said it better. I agree, that is the only way she will get the real picture.

In response to this, I would have to say it would not be a punishment if she would be given a special treatment right? I totally this agree of giving her any unnecessary privildges. She has a show called "a simple life" right? then let us be fair with them let her experience the real life behind bars and this time it is not a show so basically she has to face every prisoner get to face.

Hell no the fact is she broke the law and deserves the jail time if it was me whole when and drove with a suspended license or was drunk while driving i would get a lot more jail time i think the judge who decided against her be taken out of jail is a complete legend he isnt afraid of A List celebritys and they deserve the same treatment as everyone else

definitely not... everybody should be treated equally in the name of law regardless of whether the person is famous, rich, poor or ordinary people... there should be any privilege for anybody who breaks the law... and you are right... if certain people are being given privileges, they will never learn from their mistakes and will keep on repeating it again and again...

I don't think Paris Hilton should have a special priviledge in jail. It's too wrong. Everybody should be equal according to the law. There is no reason that she can have priviledge. She did something wrong so it's fair that she will get the suitable punishment.

she should not be given any special priviledges just because she is a celebrity or just because she's a rich heiress. she did something wrong and she should be reprimanded for what she has done. moreover, she has to learn from her mistakes. giving her special priviledges would just make her do the wrong things over and over again because she knows that she can easily get away with it.
5 Jun 07
i think that there should be no privilages for her and no news coverage. an example should be made of her
