Many people who have independent houses, grow vegetables in the backyard of the house.

I live in the downtown of the city. So it's not very possible that you will have a kitchen garden, unless you are too rich:)

I understand that downtown space is prohibitively exhorbitant. Save all money and buy a spacious house at countryside and you can definitely have a garden.

I would really like to have one. Unfortunately, I live in an apartment and, thus, having a kitchen garden is quite impossible. I feel that it would truly be cool to have such, since I could easily grow vegetables in my backyard. Having accessible vegetables that I could easily grow is great, since I do not have to buy such healthy food anymore. If I'm financially capable already, I'll surely have one for myself.

Where there is space constraints, it is not possible like big cosmopolitan cities. It is easier in village residence or country residence.

Yes I do have a garden veggies, herbs and fruit trees. I have been expanding my kitchen garden every year and are nearly self reliant on my own veggies and herbs. Pumpkin, carrot, pototoe, corn, peas and beans. This is just a few and have orange tree, lemon, apricot, Herbs I have rosemary, thyme, bazil, chives etc its the only way to go and saves money in the long run.

Last year I had a terrific crop of bottle gourd. I almost managed to get sick of bottle gourd! But I now still have fruit trees. Hopefully I will be planting lots of veggies this monsoon - that will be my bit for the environment!

Yes. What you are doing is not a bit to environment, but a quite a lot. I hope every citizen thinks of contributing something to environment in whatevery capacity they can.
