Pain Relief

I have almost constant pain in my back and leg. My doctor used to write me prescriptions for pain medication. I would only take a pill when I felt that I could not get to sleep because of the intensity of the pain. I would even go without sleep sometimes rather than take a pill. I don't like to take pills unless I absolutely have to take one. My doctor is afraid to write pain medication prescriptions now, because the DEA has brought charges against a couple of doctors for over prescribing pain meds. I quit drinking alchohol in 1981, for personal and religious reasons. I had to buy a bottle of whiskey this week, to help with the pain on bad nights so I could get some sleep. I am drinking tonight for just this reason. I swore I would never drink alcohol again, but my hand was forced. Has anyone else experienced this problem, with not being able to get pain meds for this reason?

You are correct. iN the medical field.. for many diseases, the treatment is symptomatically only. Because for many diseases we didn't find the actuall reason.. Eg: For utricaria..
