I have Hepatitis C. This virus is transmitted through blood to blood contact. It is estimated that 1.8% or 3.9 million Americans have been diagnosed with this disease and yet so few people are educated regarding how it is transmitted. Recently I had reason to share my diagnosis with a fellow employee and heard later that she now is very concerned about getting the disease herself because we come in contact with many of the same items. It made me really sad to hear this and I am having a difficult time with it. Has anyone had the same kind of situation occur and if so, how did you handle it?
