Do you Save your Pocket Change?

It surprised me when I met my hubby and he didn't save his pocket change. Whenever I had change, I would put it in a jar, can, or whatever it was I was using at the time. My hubby said he hated carrying it around in his pocket, and it never added up to much. I've never cared much for carrying it around in my purse because of the weight, but it does add up if you save it. He was very surprised when after a month of putting it in a jar, there was over $30.00 in the jar from both of us throwing our change in. Some of my coworkers will throw their change on the break table, and I have even seen them throw it away! When I ask why, they tell me they don't want to carry it around. I learned from a young age to save your pennies, did you?

I try to save mine. I at least put the pennies in a jar but often the silver I end up having to use as things get tight around the house and we need something. For the most part though I put the change all together and use it only after all the bills are gone.

My change can has saved us a few times also and bought gas or groceries after the bills were paid. It always comes in handy to have an extra little stash.

My parents never paid for me to go to college so they joked one day that they were going to save money for me to go to college. They started collecting dimes in an oil can (it was cleaned out no worries) and gave it to me when it was filled up. Turned out to be almost $200. I like pigs and over the years have collected a few piggy banks. I have one that is strictly pennies. I can't wait till it's filled to see how much money it is. I have a few others that I fill with nickels and dimes and whenever one gets filled I'll take it to the bank and save the money. It's actually quite amazing how much you can get from loose change!

My husband and I both put our change in a jar. I go yard saling in the summer time and the change in the jar is what I use to fund these shopping trips. The money that is not used over the summer is then wrapped and put in the bank. Last year we have over one hundred dollars in the jar. It is being used for our vacation this year. My jar is already half full this year so maybe there will be some left by the end of the year. It is a great way to save money.

I like to save all my pocket change, and every so often go through the change and pick out all the old coin. I like to see if there are any collectables in there and check if they are worth anything. I've been doing that since I was 9 years old. Peace!

I always give my changes to homeless persons, because i don't need as so much as them this little money. I could help for one person or two / day to buy them something to eat from my change. That's how can change change the life little better...
