With over 47 million people without health insurance, the candidates are not really addressing the issue. Other countries have state sponsored insurance and health care. Sometimes this works, sometimes not. A friend of ours from Canada says they have good care but the taxes are really high. Would you like to see a national health care insurance system? Do you have health insurance?

I know a lot of people have it from their employers. That is good because that is a group rate which is always lower. Then again some working people dont take home enough money to pay for it. And just when you think you have it made cause you work for a big company, the company decides to shed it expensive insurance and retirment.

I'm on my own when it comes to health insurance. The cost of insurance here in the United States is just rediculous.
I can't believe that the richest and most prosperous country in the world don't provide health care for all it's citizens.
The politicians balk at the idea of it, but yet they have the best healt care coverage on earth.
What a bunch of hypocrites they are.
I wish we could take away their coverage and see how they feel.
Thanks for letting me vent on this subject.

I bow to you! I totally agree with you! Maybe the movie "sicko" will do some good. If we all have the benefits that our elected and federal employees have we might think differently. I can't afford insurance either. Sigh.

I am one of the Lucky ones and have Insurance thru where I work. It might not be the Best there is out there, but it is not too Bad I guess. It does seem to pay got a lot of the things I need them for.
Now my husbands on the other hand is Expensive, and sometimes, I think he would be way better off without insurance sometimes. He has like a $2500 deductable before anything gets paid. This is like rediculous if you ask me, and could put us in the Poor house again if anything ever happened to him.
I am for a National Health Care system here in the United States. I feel that this could help solve a lot of the issues and make it to where you did not go Broke if you have a major illness or situation. And especially when you are disabled there needs to be something better in place to help them as well.

Something must be done. Let's face it, the advances in medicine are saving lives but at what cost? Large deductables make it difficult when there is an emergency and life saving surgery or treatments of chronic conditions are expensive. Many insurance policies have a lifetime limit of a million dollars. Thinking of what it costs to treat some diseases many people will reach the lifetime limit way too soon. And to think that some insurance companies have cancelled policies on patients who cost too much money. I hope someone will see what is happening cause costs are rising faster than coverage for those that have it. The rest of us will have to die in a corner somewhere.

I have health insurance through my husband being in the service for twenty years. We do have to pay premium payments but as I was looking at what it cost with others our premium payments are outstanding. I am glad that I have health insurance. It takes care of a big chunk of the bill.

Good for you. Hope the government doesnt cut back due to budget problems. After all look at all the money being thrown away now. Hang on to it as long as you can.
