Do you keep one or more writer's notebooks? I'm a notebook addict and it seems I have a notebook for everything: (1) a personal/random thoughts journal (2) an idea notebook (two different sizes) (3) a "current assignments" notebook where I flesh out ideas, record contact information, record research and things like that (I acutally have two of these going) How about you?

You sound more organized than I am. I have a notebook for each one of my college classes, and whatever comes to me ends up in one of those (most of my writing is done between classes). At home, I prefer loose leaf paper, which I organize in files and three ring binders.

I have only one big logbook for my scratch book where I write down my ideas and my poems.. and if I'm done with my piece, I publish it online...

i pretty much use the same notebook for everything, but its my constant companion! I carry it around in my purse and its got everything from story ideas to random thoughts and words that sounded good at the time, a poem or two, my 10 year old daughter's drawings and so much more... i love notebooks though and replace it every few months with another cool looking one from my local book store (Chapters!)

In total I have well over 50 notebooks (most are filled) but I'm using about five right now. They are all color coded too. I have... [1] writing while in school (black) [1] ideas (blue) [1] outlines (green) [2] research (red) I also have purple notebooks but those are for rewriting.
