I have see A LOT of discussions here on mylot about people who are rude, and disrespectful for the reason that someone else has a different view. To them I Say, Do not ask the question if you do not want to hear others answers! Thank you have a great day! =)

I too have seen many posts like this, and also many posts where people were flaming others just because they don't like them or don't care for them! And the truth is 99.9999% of the people that decide to start posts that flame others are really cowardly and would never ever consider even behaving that way face to face with someone. It's like the internet makes them big and strong!LOL!! I like to hear all responses to my discussions.

I have to agree with you. It doesn't bother me if someone see my views different than theirs....With this I read what he or she has said and apply it but in a positive way. Everyone is entailed to their feelings or thoughts on discussions shared, so I have to agree if you cant take what people are saying then your best not to say it!

Thankfully, I haven't come across any of such rude people myself yet. However I have heard about such species from many people. Some people indeed have very low tolerance for people with different views. Perhaps its a feeling of insecurity which comes out in a strong and hostile form.

I have come across a few in my short time here. Very recently I noticed it happening more and more especially with the more controversial topics. There for a time I was getting in on the "action" bt all it did was raise my blood pressure because I would get so upset when the rude person just couldn't understand why other's had a different view. So now I try to steer clear of those hot topics. I just don't understand, we are all adults here why do some people feel they need to turn back time and go though all the high school games all over again. Everyone has an opinion, everyone has they right to express their own opinion but no one has the right to belittle and bully someone to try to make them change their minds.

I agree dragonokiefly! and the only time i get hot under the collar is when a person is flat out rude and hurtful AND/OR when they are just so thick as a brick and sound like a broken record over and over ya know..Other than that though, I actually enjoy the different opinions...its just a shame that ppl cant be pleasant about it and they have to sling mud etc...Admittedly I've done it on occasion but not with complete strangers..only with someone I know and have had nothing but trouble with on a regular basis ya know....

I have no problem with people having a different opinion and I think a good debate is healthy, but when people start bullying other people because they vehemently disagree with their viewpoint, then maybe they should think twice before bringing up a controversial topic that they already know is going to cause them to react in such a way. I've had one run-in in the three months I've been here, and it has taught me to steer clear of that person from now on.

I agree with u, stacyv81, 150%!
It always amazes me how "bent outta shape" some people get, when someone has an OPPOSING opinion from theirs!
We ALL like 2 have people AGREE with us, but participating here means that u WILL have some people DISAGREE with u! It comes along with the territory! Why can't some "agree 2 DISAGREE", WITHOUT becoming VIOLENTLY DISAGREEABLE??!!!
I think alot of people don't really want others' TRUE opinions or advice. They simply want others 2 VALIDATE them, or 2 "coddle" them! But, we're all supposed 2 be here 2 express our HONEST opinions, and that's what I ALWAYS do, no matter what!
Like u said, 4 those who CAN'T handle it, don't participate!
Don't ask questions that u DON'T want the answers 2!
Again, I agree COMPLETELY!

Well, sometimes I've seen people being disrespectful over something the poster never asked. I mean, it is way off the posted topic. But on the other hand, there are a lot of people who ask questions when they really don't want to know other people's answers.

I have been accused of being insensitive and unfeeling on a few questions i have answered. I do not know maybe it is because i have cataracts that i read the questions very carefully, and then answer on what is written. I do not try to second guess anyone, so when they make personal statements that are ridiculous or impossible i will call them on it.Yesterday some guy was moaning that his wife left him and now he is looking for a woman because he is lonely and his kids need a mothers touch. I though that if he got some counseling to find out where he was at and what he needs to do might help him I was accused of being bitter. and insensitive. I believe all he wants is some one to tell him that all will be well and to hang in there. I honestly believe that if some ones marriage breaks up you need to know why, and take that as a lesson to you new interests, not in this case. It is only my opinion, and you are certainly free to accept or reject it doesn't matter which way to me.

yes, in those cases I believe that they should just tell you what they want you to say. Because that way there wouldnt be any trouble. I do not think what you said was rude or insensitive, just your honest opinion (which I happen to agree with by the way.) =)

you just have to rise above the disrespectful ones. some people will always be strongly opinionated. i have people in my family like that - if they like doing something then it is right - if you don't like it then there must be something wrong with you. with that attitude we just grin and bear it when they visit and try and keep the chit chat to neutral subjects.
chin up.
