With the latest increases in gas prices have your driving habits changed? Do you find yourself staying home more or combining all of your errands during one trip whenever possible? Is anyone still enjoying leisure drives?

My driving habits really haven't changed that much if at all. It's been a good 15 years or so since I took a "leisure" trip. Most of the time I find that I combine all my errands into one trip as much as possible anyways because it's just more efficient.

Very true, especially with all we need to get done in a day. I've been doing it that way myself for years. However, I used to take leisure trips. My dogs really like going in the car and every once in a while I would take them for a ride. I haven't been lately so when I had to run to the grocery store I waited until evening so it would be a little cooler and since I had a short list and wouldn't be in the store long I took them with me. They were thrilled!

I can see that easily. There's a lot more motorbikes out there, it seems to me. They are definitely much more economical to ride. Thanks for sharing.

I'm home from college, so that definitely means my driving habits have changed. When I was at school, I drove several times a week. Whether it was the hour drive home, or a rather short drive to Walmart and back. I haven't gone anywhere in a few weeks, so I'm not spending as much money for gas as I was before. It's actually a blessing. I like when summer comes because it means I can keep a better eye on my finances, as I don't go as many places and I can save more money. I'm not as tempted to spend on anything.

I'm still up for leisure jobs - in someone else's car!

Yeap, my husband and I drive 90 each to and from work a day. So that is 180 miles a day. With the gas prices being so high, we try to stop on our way home to pick up things. We live way out in the country so if we need to go to the grocery or whatever, it is back up to where we work. So we will stop on our way home and pick up whatever, visit my mother (since she lives in town) etc. We hardly go anywhere on weekends since gas is so high. I keep hoping and praying it will come back down to $3.00 a gallon but it hasn't so far here. Still up to 3.28

I'm reading this and want to guess you live somewhere in the Greater Washington DC Metro area. I drove 74 miles to work and hated it! I don't miss that commute and I know it's a stop every other day for gas as well. I know, I rarely go out any more. I wait until I have somewhere to go, instead of just running errands now.
