what is the cold war between US and Russia

I say the news yesterday they said that there was a meeting held between the Developed nations. In that meeting there were cold war between US and Russia. May know from any one of you what is that.

A cold war is two countries spying on each other through their secret service. They are keeping an eye on each other to make sure that one is not gaining a military advantage which could result in the declaration of a real war. Pretty much James Bond stuff. They also use spy satellites these days.

I'm sure someone else can provide you with a much better explanation but I'll be happy to give you the basics. Russia as you may know was a Communist country and America is based on Freedom. Because of those differences being so vast and both countries accumulating military, warfare and nuclear expertise there was a competion, arch rivalry in place. Both countries were reported to have nuclear war heads pointed at each other in the event of war.
