Picking your nose, scratching, and farting....

Admit it (at least to yourself even if you won't on here LOL), everyone has picked their nose, scratched themselves, or farted at least once in their life (including you...but YOU know it's really been MORE than this). LOL! Why are these things SO embarrassing when they are a natural part of life? If someone sees that you did at least one of these (or in the case of farts, smells it) and they make a remark, what would you do? Would you deny it, ignore them, or would you be so embarrassed that they'd know it was you? Do kids tend to do these things more than adults, or do adults tend to do these things more than children?

hmmm, I try real hard not to let anyone catch me picking my nose or scratching myself. Most the time I only do these things when in private. Farting is a whole other story, I fart whenever I feel the need and sometimes that gets a bit embarrassing, like whenever my wife drags me into the craft store or the fabric shops for some reason I always seem to have to fart. I guess those places bring out the best in me. LOL. When I'm at work its just a bunch of guys and they all laugh it off until the stench hits them. Take care, Terry

Hello Sacmom, I think this must be denied as these are natural sign. When it comes, we do not know, so these should be treated as natural thing. It is our mental state as to how we take it. Its number of occurance is not fixed for kids and adults. Anytime to anybody it may come. Doctros also suggest not to suppress such natural unwanted habit otherwise it may have some negative affect on us. So whenever fart etc comes we should allow to blow away at once so that we are free from this and work freely.

I think kids and adults do it about the same, its just that kids are more open about it. I usually try not to let people see me do it, and if they do its very rare that anyone would say anything. I won't say anything to someone if I see them do it either, unless its my kids. I don't think its a big deal, everyone does it lol.

It all depends on the person who is with me... but usually i will fart and smell in front of those who are my close ones and if ever there is some people whom i dont really know; i wont fart or i will try to be as discreet as i can! well if the people around me makes a remark i will sure tell them that i am human and its soooo natural lol when children fart... its so innocent that we tend to ignore these petty things!

It depends on who I'm around whether or not I would be embarrassed. If it's just my family, or even a couple of my really close friends, I don't care. I don't do any of those things out in public, though. The only time I ever say something to anyone about it is when it's my husband or my son. I get onto my husband for teaching the baby bad manners. My son is 16 months old, and he has just started picking his nose and eating it! My husband picks his nose and feeds it to the dog (gross, huh?) so the baby sees him do this and now does it all the time, too. Tonight we were at Walmart, and Elliott stuck his finger up his nose for like 15 seconds, pulled it out looked at it said "MMMMMMMMM" really loud and stuck it in his mouth before I could stop him. My husband was standing right there laughing, but did nothing to attempt to stop him. I did have to tell them both to knock it off, but I wouldn't say anything to anyone else.
