I just got out of my practicum site and I am really tired. I am having my practicum at Solomon Guest House near school so it's basically still in-campus site. It's a fine-dining restaurant that offers affordable prices for the dishes and it is also a hotel at the same time. Anyway, I realized how hard, tiring and fun it is at the same time to handle guests and serve them. I used to work part time in Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf but I can say that working in a restaurant is more thrilling and I can see that I can learn a lot from this experience. Has anyone worked or is working in a restaurant? What was your experience? Share your experiences with guests and colleagues here. :)

Hello, marababe,i have not worked in a restaurant before but one of my friend is working there, she tells me it is very tired to work in a busy restaurant, she is a waitress who need to serve the customers, but because the restuarant is so busy, basically, she needs to work non stop, she also has to do everything really fast and deal with the customers really well.

Hi easy888. Well, it's really tiring. But it's fun to get to talk to customers also. As part of our practicum we get to experience being a cashier, a server, a bartender, operations manager, steward, everything! It's like we "own" the restaurant. :) I agree that everything should be fast or you'll end up getting angry and furious customers.
