Chengde, China

Is it worthwhile to visit Chengde for a day from Beijing? I am not talking about going to Chengdu. This place is northeast of Beijing and NOT in Sichuan. What is there to do in Chengde and about how long is the train ride from Beijing?

Pu Ning Temple - a place worth visiting in Chengde.
Chengde is most famous in China,you've made a wise choice.it's really a good resort worth visiting.you won't be disappointed. it will take about 5 hours to take the train from Beijing to Chengde,the fastest is N211,only about 4 hour,but that train leaves at 6:30 AM,too early in the morning.

i'm sorry,but i don't know what you had said! Chengde shanzhuang(??) is nearby beijing,is famous travel place!
