guys and gals, do you think it is absolutely necessary to show your man that you care through words and actions? I'm a little confused because my man doesn't seem to mind that I don't buy him thinks, call him sweet names or give him other sweet favors. What does this mean? Are there men who really don't mind not being pampered or do all men have to be pampered in a relationship?

I think there is a difference between pampering someone and showing them that you care. For instance, while I sometimes buy little treats or do nice things for my boyfriend from time to time, I also make an effort to show him how much I appreciate him on a daily basis. For instance, it's the little things he seems to like about me. I always smile and greet him when he walks into the room I'm in, I thank him whenever he does nice things for me, and I ask his opinion on things because I want to show him that I like having him involved in my life. I'm sure that a lot of men enjoy being pampered, but I also think that there are men out there that are prefectly content just knowing that their significant other cares about them and is genuinely happy to have them around.

I guess you are right about the difference between caring and pampering. Sadly I remiss in both. Thank you for the insight though. I guess I can start with little gestures huh? thanks :)

I think it's important to show your spouse or significant other how much you care... and men seem to really enjoy the attention, every bit as much as women do. I don't buy my husband things very often (mainly because I hate to shop, so I don't do it much lol) but I really like to just give him random hugs or compliments here and there (both make him smile) and I usually jot down a quick note that goes into his lunch bag. I guess that sounds mushy to some people but he told me that it makes him feel really good, when he's exhausted or annoyed at work, to sit down at break time and find a good thought or a smile from me. Doesn't take a lot of time, money or energy to show someone that you care... but the return on the investment is SO worth it :)

It's so great that your husband actually feels good with those simple things you do. That's so sweet of him to tell you that. The lunchbox note is also a nice idea. Thanks for dropping by :)

well, its subjective n differs from person to person. i, personally, make it a point to tell my boyfriend how much i love him everyday. altho he's never asked me to do stuff like this for him, i think all guys like the attention. n i love buying things for him. :D so yea, i like pampering my boyfriend.

Depends really to the guy, but mostly guys also need to be pampered.. well at least show them that you care, though you're not that affectionate but hey, you do have to make him happy or somewhat feel mushy sometimes. most guys love that. :)

Thank you superfluous. It's not really the mushy part that I don't like. I'm just really really busy. I wonder if I should be alarmed that my guy is not so into being pampered?
