HELP!!! I want to collect movies based on true story!

I would like to make a list of movies depicted from true stories. I've had great experience of using movie as a tool for teaching people, particularly the youngsters. I used the "October Sky" to spark the consiousness of them on the power of a dream against any threat. I felt it's powerfull. I think it's because of the true story. At my first try on using movie in my class, I got possitive responses from the youngsters as well as my co-lecturer. As an impact, they would try my method.
Unfortunately, I have just some titles of movie based on true-life's story. Would you give me one(s)?

i'll tell you a hindi movie based on true story , the title is samay with sushmita sen as the lead, she is a police officer in that, a person becomes a serial killer just to show that he is eligible , he loses in the race to become iasto sushmita sen due to his eyesight power, so he keeps killing people based on time, just to prove that he is fit to be an ias, it is based on a true story, one newspaper claimed, and also in the movie they put that

Thanks Adijam265! Some hindi movies are coloured by beautiful dances and soundtrack, very impressive! I do not see "Samay" yet. I'll take a look. I'm sure it's available in my country Indonesia. You know, many sinetrons in Indonesia are produced by Indo-Hindi people! They play in this area pretty well.

Yes, it is! We have Mahabharata and Ramayana, too! They are very popular in my country, especially amongst Javanese, like me! In the 1980s and 1990s there was a tv serial about those two. It was hindi sinetron. And in the begining of 2000s we had those in Indonesian language, starring local artists.
Up to now, there is a TV station in Indonesia which has hindi movies as its special menu. It's called Bollywood.

Is Citizen X good? I've run across that title a few times over the past few weeks...You said its one of your favs eh? I think I'll have to give it a watch LOL especially since it keeps coming up....

Thanks Balasri! It seems that you're a well-updated person in movies. You've given me new titles that I haven't ever known yet! I have to go hunting for them. Would you suggest me, which ones of them are suitable for teens? Which ones are "G" according to MPAA Rating?

Well I just remembered Erin Brokovich. I also found these titles, they're reportedly based on a true story according to imdb.com, but I can't verify them as I have not watched them.

Oh what a great discussion and one that is close to my heart as well for me its the only movie to watch and can think of a few off the top of my head. The doors with meg ryan and val kilma, who will love my children, the beauty queen killer, The vb killer,black friday, Gallipoli, I can jump puddles and I have heaps more. At first, I've wanted to make a list of movies based on true story, because of its more powerful effect over the viewers. But then, I'm thinking of which ones of them are suitable for certain groups. I have to categorize them. I know it'll be a hard work to do.

Gallipoli- is an australian war movie one I watched when I was a teenager. I can jump puddles is about a young man who is cripples and also suitable for teenages. A furtunate life is a true store about a young mans life Albert Facey -also a teenage movie.La Bumba- About Richie Valley,The Hurrican - movie about a box who was the champion of the world and got jailed, white squal - which I think is a true story about a boat with a group of boys on it that only some come back. the list goes on but these are just some goodluck let me know if you need more. willing to help

Here is a good one I don't see mentioned: STANDER stars Thomas Jane who played the Punisher in the last Punisher film...it is based on the true story of the South African police officer who turned into a bank robber

Seems like u have lots of choices here to pick. But i only want to suggest one - BEAUTIFUL MIND. The story based on the life of the nobel prize winner, John Nash.
I love them very much. The struggle of a human towards his illness and his life. It never been easy for someone who live with schizophrenia but he beat them. Something the younger generation should learn... how to face the difficulties and win them. They later will be a grown up... and enter the next stage of life.. and they need something to guide them... something they can wear like the second skin. The determination and the patience....

The only one I can think of right now is 'Hannah's War'. It should be suitable for teens. It is a girl's story from WW II.
