Why people eating pigs, cows, chickens criticize people eating dogs ?

Dogs are widely considered to be pets and domesticated animals in the western civilitions. Most poeple think of dogs as their pets and by extension a part of the family. I wouldn't dream of eating a member of my family, although some native peoples do it routinely. Another reason is that dogs are semi-intelligent animals, and they have personality. Chickens are stupid, cows are as dumb as a stump, fish may as well be brainless and pigs while being smart, lack personality. I don't eat pork anyways. Interestingly enough many Native American tribes would eat both their horses and thier dogs in times of extreme famine. They were very respectful about it however and only did it during the extreme famines as a last resort. Survival of the fittest I guess.

Because in most countries dogs are pets and for most people their pets are part of the family- can you imagine eating a member of your family????? My dog is a black lab- in some countries he is considered a delicasy (so I hear) that makes me crazy- this dog is like my baby- i would do anything for him including give my own life for him, I love him like he is my child. I do not agree with the eating of dogs, I'm sorry it just makes me sick. I personally am not a meat eater- I can't stand the fact that I would be eating something that was once living and breathing.

Cows and chickens don't eat meat. Pigs are omnivorous but when raised for food they are also fed grain and vegetables. Dogs are meat eaters, in most cultures people do not eat animals that eat meat. Also it is a cultural habit. In some countries people eat horse meat,( horses also eat vegetation only) but in many countries people would be horrified if they were asked to eat horse meat. Dogs are generally regarded as pets or helpers such as watch dogs, sled dogs and service dogs for the blind and other handicapped people, so people would not eat them either. But I think the main reason is that people should not eat meat eating animals.

Dog meat is for people who live in the cool weather or winter season. It is bad smell when they eat in summer. They like to eat they think it is energetic and power for them. I heard people caught them during the night put them in the baga and put on the mortobike for sale to the dog meat shop 10US$ per one in my town. But I wish I didn't taste it any more. My friend used to play a trick that it was the rabbit meat, I put it in my mouth with asking one to one and I through it away.

Probably because they feel that dogs are not really meant to be eaten, since they were accustomed to it being a pet or, as some often claim, a man's best friend. They, thus, single out those who have the propensity to eat dogs. Cows, pigs, and chickens, on the other hand, may be animals that they've been accustomed to consider as food and, thus, they don't feel as much slighted by those who eat such than those who eat dogs. In our country, though, dogs are sometimes eaten, especially by drunkards.

Sexy discussion! I am not sure, probably because like dogs, pigs, cows and chickens do not eat human excretion.

Not used to it,i think...... I have friend who eat snake and drink the blood (for some kind of medicinal purpose they said). It is OK for me. Different culture must have different type of foods and beliefs. But,I only eat fish, beef and chicken. Maybe not so adventurous with foods.
