We are exposed to hostile elements everyday. Pollution, wrong diet and too much dependence on medication are among these. Over 70% of Mindanao's population have health-related diseases , directly linked to unhealthy lifestyle habits. Smoking, drinking, eating too much fats and bad carbohydrates, and lack of exercise are causing the rise in morbidity rate. Even children are becoming obese thanks to our fast food culture. Adults are contracting numerous diseases. More than ever, "our food" is posing a serious health issue among us.
What is interesting is that many people they have a medical illness, when in fact there is a strong possibility that the complaint is due to the lack of proper nutrients in the body. Only one in 19 Filipinos reach the age of 60, and this is largely caused by an unhealthy lifestyle.
