Dangerous foods

United States

At testing lab here in Texas found some acetomenophen in pet food. This could kill a cat or harm a dog' liver. We all remember the problems with pet food that had additives from China. There have been problems with human food too. Many times the sources have been linked to China. Even some fresh picked produce has had problems. Do you think it would be hard for someone to add dangerous things to foods and other things that we eat and use everyday? Whenever this in mentioned on the news does it give a malcontent ideas of how to harm us?

I really am of the opinion that we need to stop importing food products. I really don't think that any country has as stringent controls on their plants/manufacturers as we do in the States. If it means that the price of products rises a bit, so be it. I would rather eat less, but know that waht I eat will not kill me! Perhaps we all need to start gardening too, like our forefathers!

I think you may be right. Some how when we import things they never seem to be of the quality standards expected from growers/producers in this country. Since we cant afford to stop inporting somethings we really need to take control of the situation. I have long said that government inspection and/or control is not very good.I really dont know what to think. If we put inspections in the hands of the private sector, profit will be the issue. Of course government is not much better. Something must be done before someone figures out to kill us all.

Yes, I think that it might give people ideas. But you also want people to be aware of what is happening. You hope that at food processing plants there is some security over the food that we eat. Are we better off buying fresh food or growing our own food. That may limit what we eat but maybe we would be healthier.

So true. We want to trust the people that produce our food. We have to eat...Then again I wonder how many people are bored with these jobs and just dont care? And let's face it I'm not sure we can trust the government to keep watch over all this. The FDA and other testers/watchers have their hands full. Once again one must wonder if money is a problem. Not enough people to do the work? Not enough pay?
