Do u read what you have typed, before clicking start/respond discussion button?

Ya, do u have the habit of going through the message you have typed, or will simply click start discussion or post response button, immediately after typing the subject matter in the "discussion details" column. I used to read once and try to correct the mistakes i make while typing, because it is not possible to edit the discussion after posting it.

Due to working with Lawyers I am used to checking and double checking. Of course, I also have come to the conclusion that I am human--- so I will screw up. Drives me nuts though that you can't edit posts here.

This is a good discussion. Most of time I will read over my discussion before hitting the button. Because I always seem to find a mistake a mispelling. But there the times when Im in a hurry and I will just hit that botton.

I try to check my posts first to see if there are any mistakes, but I don't always catch them. I know I made a bit of a type in the last discussion of yours I responded to. I'm glad I use firefox though. It's got an automatic spell checker that will underline in red misspelled words for you like in microsoft word. But like microsoft word, it doesn't catch all mistakes. ~Kythe42 http://lemurianphoenix.blogspot.com

I like to read it over, use the dictionary when needed, use correct punctuation when I think of it. Then I post response. I like to read it after as well. That's when I usually see mistakes that I missed. Like you stated, "it is not possible to edit the discussion after posting it." Peace!

no this is one thing in me that i really want to change.. i dont read what i write before submitting it.. and many times have made a fool of myself here on mylot.. where ppl point out the small typing errors.. but then i take them in good spirit and think that next time i write i will read it.. !! let me read this before hitting post response.. ;)

Actually this is horrible but I never check my posts. I know I should because I get to typing so bloody fast that I make all kinds of errors and reading back through my post sometimes I look like I'm illiterate or English is not my primary language but I don't have any excuse for my errors because I am Canadian and English is my primary language and actually in school English and writing were the subjects I excelled in. I don't know why I don't check my posts. I think it's just an oversight. Also usually when I am on mylot I am multi-tasking and don't really have the time to double check everything.

I generally correct as I am typing a post. Or glance over it after I am finished before hitting the submit button. That is a pet peeve of mine. Especially when a website has a mistake and they are trying to sell you something. Something else that bugs me is here in My Lot when someone makes spelling errors in the Subject Line, to me that is a turn off.

Yeah, I do read what I've written.. most of the time though. Sometimes I just skim through without really checking it word for word. So I do tend to make spelling mistakes or some grammar mistakes as well.. =P
