Do you own a Quija board? If so, what kind of experiences have you had while using it?

for me a quija board is dangerous and not something i would allow in my home. They are the equivalent of opening your door at night onto a city street and inviting all passes by in, not a good idea blessed be

For any who are curious about the Ouija board and how "paranormal" it is, check out the Penn and Teller show "Bull****". They do a series of simple tests with some Ouija board true believers. As the rational might expect, there is absolutely nothing supernatural about it. As usual, paranormal claims fail utterly when tested.

Yep that was the episode. If they hid the board, covered their eyes, or shifted the board's position, the 'spirit's message became gibberish. It always astounds me how often this stuff is debunked yet continues to survive. Pseudoscience is still pervasive in society.

Ain't that the one where they figured out that the boards only work when the users' eyes are open?

I do not own one-- I have used one lots of times growing up- Man they are spooky- We used to go to a friends house- go up into their attic or the top floor of the garage and use it- Man it was spooky- I don't believe in them- I'm sure someone always just pushed the thing more to one side- to get us going- but you never know- I can say I'll probably never use one again!

Yeah, I think that people do that without even knowing. Sometimes you want to believe that something is true that your mind plays tricks on you. Like pushing the thing without realizing you are doing it.

I had an experience with one many years ago and I have never been so scared in all of my life. I even have a fear of repeating the experience to other people because I don’t want to have the feeling I felt at that time ever again. My fear was compounded by the fact that one month following my experience I walked in on a conversation where another lady was telling about her experience and it was identical… as if she had been in the very room with me. Just hearing her story made me have the same feelings all over again and there was not even a board in the room at that time. I broke down in tears and couldn’t even speak. I haven’t spoken about it again except to one other person who was a preacher of mine and he helped me moved passed it all. I won’t go near one ever again. Someday I know that I need to educate myself on the whole practice and I am sure I will read a book about it or something. That is the only way I know to give the fear that I have surrounding it, its proper place in my mind.

I do not own a ouji board and I never will. I truely believe there are ghosts and spirits living among us. Especially some that are evil And a Ouiji board is an open invite. I know I sound like a wierdo. but i truely believe it. I was always told a bad or evil spirit cannot enter your house or your body unless invited. I am a total geek but they freak me out.

I don't own one and never would buy one. My dad used to have one at his house when I was younger. We messed around with it once and something strange happened. I've never messed with one since.

I have never personally owned a Ouija board. But I have burned a couple after getting involved in a small clean-up operation. The problem with Ouja boards are that they are like lighting up a beacon for any random passing spirit. Initiates of the esoteric Orders tend to frown on Ouija boards for that reason--the lack of control of what spirit is going to answer the summons. As for my experiences (during the clean-up), the spirits had not a clue what they were talking about, but they sure knew the answers that people wanted to hear--no truth, just pretty lies.

My grandma told me how she had played with a ouija board when she was younger and it told her she would die. Well, while riding with her dad somewhere in a car, her door flew open and she almost fell out of it until her dad pulled her back in. She now has a ouiji board in her bedroom closet that belongs to my uncle but she won't touch it lol. On a different subject, wouldn't a ouiji board be safe to use if a person performed a protection spell or something beforehand? I think that would work since the Guardians of the four corners (or archangels, ect.) would be watching over the place.
