What is the difference between attending mass and going to church?

Is going to church a routinary thing for you during Sundays? Is it something you need to do because that is what you were taught when you were young? I only go to mass when my mom comes to visit a few months a year here. I have developed a distaste for people who would go to mass to have their sins washed away only to repeat all their misdoings a few days after, then the cycle repeats itself. Lets have mercy on the LORD and lets keep up to our promises next time we go to church!
