Do u blog to earn or just for fun?

well i must say when i fist started blogging it was just for fun and help others learn cool stuff (my blog is about c# programming) and then later i started earning from it. But the bad thing is that due to hyper excitement i got my adsense account banned, havent earned much just a few cents here n there... tell me about your blog story...
