what to wear on a college interview?

can we have some casuals or only strictly formals? and do we need a tie compulsory if we dress formal?

I think you should dress strictly formal, beacause that leaves a good impression on the interviewer's mind. the interviewer feels that you have come prepared for the interview, if u wear casuals, the interviewer will not take u seriously as u already are quite casual...Hope u got what i wanted to say :)
