Honestly, the only dogs that scare me are the ones are Rottweilers. And the dogs themselves usually aren't too bad, but how some of the crappy people out here train them to be cruel attack dogs definately makes me wary of them.

Rottweilers are one of the breeds that are often sought out by people who have no idea what the dog needs and therefore fail to provide for them correctly. Then of course because of their size, they are able to do considerable damage if they do become violent. Rots were originally bred to be castle guard dogs, so they are naturally very protective, independent and they 'think' on their own. Dogs like that need specific training and owners that understand & respect their special skills. At the same time though, they are amazing pets for the owner who does understand and appreciate them.

I think all dogs that are too big or big enough to bring me down are the scariest dogs of them all. I am just afraid of those kind of dogs.

The only "type" of dog that's scary in my opinion, is the one who hasn't been cared for properly. The one who's owners have kept tied on a leash, barely meeting the dog's needs and not providing proper training & stimulation for. That dog, (of any breed) is going to harm someone when it eventually breaks free of it's chain.Dogs, like children, need to be taught proper behavior and if they're not they become a problem. My neighbor has a medium sized mixed breed dog. Nothing about her "looks" scary, she's not very big, has a pretty face & looks like any run of the mill mixed dog. I've lived next door to her for 5 years now and I think at most she's been brought into the house on 6 or so nights. I live in Massachusetts, we have outrageously bad winters some years. She's been brought in when there are blizzard conditions, but otherwise she lives outside through all weather. She barks constantly. She runs in circles constantly. She's bored out of her little doggy mind and she's an accident waiting to happen. I go talk to her whenever I have a chance. I've given her dog toys that my dog didn't show an interest in and I give her treats occasionally. I let the owners know that I am doing this too by the way. If she gets loose, I at least want her to know I am her friend. But I worry about what she'll do to another person when she gets loose.

Hi, I think the scariest dog for me is the irresponsible dog owner... All dogs are pleasant and awsome unless they have been tortured into being scary and vicious...
