How do you get a good suntan without burning?

I have light skin and sunburn very easily. I don't like going to the tanning booths, they scare me. LOL But, I really want to get a tan this year. Do you have any special things you use to help you tan. I have to use a lot of sunscreen so I don't burn. Any suggestions?

I am already tan so I can only tell you what others have told me about getting tanned skin. It seems the safest way is to use tan spray or lotion. This spray or lotion helps you get the tan color but also block the UV rays. I don't remember the brand, but these people are outdoor people so I'm sure this is a good idea for you.

thanks for BR. I'm sure you'll find one that won't work against your skin type.

Sounds like something I should try. I will look for it next time I'm at Walmart.

Sorry, my friend, I am a natural redhead and have the same problem....I usually find a near by shade....and wear big floppy hats or carry an umbrella if I will not be near a shade tree....LOL Good luck with a better response than this one.....

You probably do have to be extra careful with your red hair. I have a red haired cousin and he burns even faster then I do.

I use a spray on tan . A lot of them are real good and much safer than tanning.I was real fair but even when I was younger and tried to get a tan,I never could .It didn't matter what i used,I always burned then i wised up and stop doing that to my skin. I can suggest a good spray on tan

I really don't know what to tell you. I tan just by going outside. My daughter tries so hard to get a tan and she burns, she is fair skinned too. She tried the tanning beds and same thing, no tan.

I would like to know too. I am getting ready to go to Florida the end of June for vacation. I do know that aloe is good for sunburns. The only thing I know is sun in moderation.

A Florida vacation sounds like fun.
