"And without faith it is impossible to be well-pleasing unto him; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that seek after him." (ASV)
It's easy for a Christian to believe in God. If we didn't believe that God exists, we wouldn't bother ascribing to ourselves the term "Christian" after all. More difficult for many though is to believe that God rewards all of those who seek Him. We struggle to believe that God has good things in store for us. Yet this is a basic tenet of the Christian faith.

Amen to that, and you're right. We're too often quick to point a finger heavenward when something bad happens, but we forget to thank God for the good stuff. A real shame since (at least in my own life) I usually find that the bad stuff was a result of something I did, whereas the good was a gift.

I so agree. I have people ask me why God let something bad happen to them but I don't usually hear them telling me the good things God does for them. I guess it is human nature and without God we will only see the negative and not the positive of God's character.

Thanks for another great discussion from what I have read already. I will have to bookmark them to read later. My computer has been down for a couple of days and I am swamped with emails etc. You are such a great person to write what God has placed on your heart. Keep sharing the faith.

I like the KJV here at the end of the verse "...and that he is a rewarder of them that DILIGENTLY seek him."
