Plagiarizm is when you use someone else's words and don't give them credit. If you cut and paste something it might only be part of something and you add your own words to it. Always remember if you use someone else's words to make sure their name is on it.

Plagiarism is when you take someone elses words and pass them off as your own.
Cut and paste is fair use. The "fair use" exemption to (U.S.) copyright law was created to allow things such as commentary, parody, news reporting, research and education about copyrighted works without the permission of the author. That's vital so that copyright law doesn't block your freedom to express your own works --only the ability to appropriate other people's. That is why you must give a link when copying and pasting.

It you do not give a link, then you are stealing. Especially if it it someone elses discussion ro response.

You know I never thought about this before but I do not think that there is a difference . It is stealing other peoples words. I guess it is Plagiarism if they are passing the words off as their own.We all copy and paste I would think it is all about how we are using it.

I will be happy to... Plagiarism is exactly this- the failure to acknowledge your sources or the act of making it appear that someone else's work is your own.
There is no difference. Plagiarism is stealing- and stealing is stealing, no matter what pretty words you use. I'm sure this question is somehow directed at people who do it here on MyLot, and my answer is for them, as well. It takes time and effort to think of and type a response, and I wouldn't want to find out someone took my efforts and claimed them as their own. If people don't want to put forth an effort, they should go somewhere else. I'm not here for money, I'm here to meet new people and learn new things. Liars and thieves make this less enjoyable for everyone. I also wouldn't want to find out that I responded to someone's discussion that was stolen from the original author. It would kinda be like finding out I paid for stolen merchandise.
