I thought that I was one of the very few people who bothered to name their computers, because everyone that I know seems to have been content to accept the default alphanumeric title assigned by their operating system.
My desktop computer is Puccini and my laptop is Verdi. I did rename my laptop Xandros for a while when I was using Xandros as the operating system on it, but I changed it back to Verdi recently.

For the moment, mine is named 'the best computer ever.' Previously, it was simply 'MEOW.' I change the name whenever I feel in the mood to do so.

At work we do something kinda neat--- We put an abbreviation of the city, followed by the floor and room number. For instance, SFO1-D1726 would be a Desktop, in San Francisco, on the 17th floor room 26.
At home, my servers in the Basement are all Farscape. Moya is my file server, since she does love to carry everyone around. (Moya is also a Compaq Proliant 6000 with all three drive cages full.) Rygel is my Domain Controller, (Not a God, a Dominar!), etc.
Got this neat all Black computer that I put some batwings on and called the "Batputer".
