Yes, they are mine, and yes, they were invited. I wish I could have gotten a picture of them. It was so funny, watching my three little ones pick berries. Each of them, circling the strawberry patch, looking for those "Perfect" berries to pick. Between the 3 of them, They found at least 2 quarts of red, sweet, berries. (the youngest picked a beautiful cupful of pretty perfect green ones! LOL!)
They get excited about some of the smallest things. A sunflower can hold them in awe, because on Monday, it will be ankle height. By Friday, it's taller than they are! I have to admit, that's pretty incredible, too.
I hope they get this excited when It's time to pick the beans and peas and digging potatoes. Oh, I'm sure they will, they planted them afterall. :)
Do your kids help out in the garden? Do they get excited about the lively veggies growing?

My kids loved to help in the garden when they were little. Now that I have grandkids they too will help out. They have their own special flowers that we plant in the garden. They get much joy out of seeing them grow and blossom.

It is so much fun watching the kids watch their garden grow. It's all new to them. We've taken advantage of the sites and beauty that occur, but the kids remind us to stop and take a look. My kids, too, each have thier own flowers planted in the flower beds. Mostly marigolds and "tunas" (petunias.)
I hope your grandchildren have a great season with their garden this year!

That is just too cute. I know when I worked at a daycare we would plant plants in pots and watch the progress and they were so awestruck. They would get so excited then whenever the vegetable was big enough to eat we would let them all try it and they were so amazed that they were eating food that they had planted. I didn't get my garden in this year but hope to next year.

I love watching children get excited about their plants. My youngest has become the expert pea planter. She can stuff those little seeds into the ground quite a ways. If you want some help with a row of beans, I'll send her your way... she'd be happy to help. :)
