Oddly enough I have no clue. I pay an all inclusive rent package, I'm told by my roommate it is some massive company that only does high speed internet connections for apartment complexes and inclusive packages that come with them.

I use Earthlink (DSL through Embarq, formerly Sprint). They may not be the best DSL but I live in a small town so that's pretty much it unless you want to go through the cable company and I'm already on satellite for TV. They do pretty well, I can't complain.

I use Hughesnet but frankly they are really pretty horrible. We don't have access to DSL where we live so I went with satellite, but most of the time dial-up would be faster. Beware of Hughesnet - they put ridiculous restrictions on downloads and when my daughter goes to Myspace it will usually put us in a status they call "forced slow down" where it can take 20 minutes to load a single web page. I upgraded to "Pro" which gives us a bit more download allowance; if that doesn't work I will go back to dial up. Satellite is expensive and with Hughesnet not worth the $70 a month.
