I was recently involved with an analytical study on some (selected) Hollywood movies and the portrayal of death in them. One interesting finding was that they were all extremely dramatised, for a special effect on the audience. When analysed critically, they were all unreal, to the core. I know how much cultural significance the films have, but this set me thinking - whether we are making use of some misrepresentations in specific topics like death. What do you feel about this, from a layman's point of view?

After 10 years in EMS, I'm pretty glad that movies don't portray reality in some things... everyone doesn't need the images that I can't seem to get out of my head.
