spin off season of heroes?

I really like heroes first season, the story in every episode is unpredictable, great characters, always engaging and get me addicted to watch more episodes of heroes. And now when its over after 23 episodes, i have to wait till september like they said in their website. I heard bout this spin off season of heroes, tim kring said they will broadcast it during season brea, i wonder if its gonna make a hit compared to first season :-)
