But come on why in god name was he going in a sewer for a stupid cell phone? I mean does your cell phone mean that much to you? Would you do the same thing? How sad for his family to have to deal with his death in such a odd way.

That was sad and a horrible way to die. I didn't think a cell phone would work after it got wet anyway. My son's friend dropped his in the toliet and it didn't work after that, he had to buy a new one. I certainly wouldn't have tried to get it back if that happened to mine.

That is very sad. But, some of these cell phones are so expensive and he probably had all his important phone numbers in it. As easy as there are to lose though, I don't have an expensive one. This is just so sad that someone put that much importance on a cell phone.

No cell phone is worth that. I can't believe he did this. What an awful way to die.

This was on the local news tonite, I live only a couple hours from Sheboygan. Could you imagine? What possesses someone to go after their cell phone in a sewer? I don't care how expensive it is! I wonder if the guy had kids, can you imaine the embarrassment they will go through when I asked about their dad? My cell phone doesn't mean that much too me, not to go after it in a sewer drain! No offense to anyone that lives in Wisconsin, I used to live there, but the craziest stuff happens in that state! Not to be cold, but I see a Darwin Award in this story....

I am trying my hardest not tolaugh. I mean a man did die, but in a very embarassing way. Don't people know that cell phones can be replaced? I do not own a cell phone so i don't know how people can be that attached enough to want to put themselves in harms way for it. I agree it must be sad for his family but also embarassing.

That is very sad!!!!!!! Very much doubt that he thought he might drown , Im sure if he knew he would nt of gone into the sewer. I dont think Id have to think twice about retrieving it, noway!! But each to their own. Very sad and i send best wishes to his family
