if you are, when did you start? what motivated you to start? what kind of smokes do you enjoy (cigarettes, cigars, something else)? do you feel any pressure from the constant message that smoking is bad? would you like your 12 year old to pick up the habit?

I smoked for twenty seven years off and on. I smoked Marlboro lights. I enjoyed smoking and it seemed to keep me calm, and I worked retail so I needed all the help I could get being calm. I smoked for a long time because people just wanted me to stop smoking. People told me how bad cigeretts are. People could not mind their own business. I am sick and tire of other people telling me what I can and can not do. I smoke because as a humanbeing I have free will. I also have the freedom to choose what I want to do or not do. People are so bussy telling other what is right and wrong that they can't seem to figure out that what is good for them is not good for someone else. What if I said everyone had to be Catholic? That there was no religon other than Catholic. Then that would be terrible and I would be terrible but yet when a small group of people say I don't like smoking we all have to stop smoking because they say so. My daughter is sixteen and has tried smoking and doesn't like it. She doesn't smoke. My niece who was raised around smokers is a non smoker. Smoking is a habit and choice.

No, I am not a smoker. If I had a 12 year old I would not want them to pick up the smoking habit.

I don't smoke no. Honestly I don't like smokers not that I don't like them but I don't think they should because it cuts life and leaves a bad feeling behind if something happens to them. Life is worth living and I wished smokers had more help with stopping because someone will wish they did so inside their family. Just my take. (I've never touched one) ~Joey

I dont' smoke but I used to. I quit because it's an expensive disgusting ,unhealthy habit. I started because I was going through a lot of things and was told it was relaxing.Yea,at a cost! I got up to 1 1/2-2 packs a day and quit cold turkey. I would never want or allow any of my kids to smoke ,even if I had any.If I had kids and caught of them smoking,he wouldn't be able to sit for a week, lol

I started smoking when I was in high school, out of influential friends. I stopped it for a while still during high school then came back when I got into college. I started smoking again, I guess heavier than when I was in high school. I lose control for like a month, I smoke everyday for more than 5 sticks and that’s a high risks. My lungs is weak, I know it for a fact when I was in primary school because I get so sickly often times then. And so I tone down when I realized I’m going fast. I started buying 5 sticks a day then the next or the day after the next, I bought 4 sticks, then three sticks and so I came to the point that I’m contented with one stick per day. Right now, I don’t smoke everyday. I only smoke once or never in a month. And I’m happy with it.

Quit smoking two years back. But recently, the habit has been trying to make a comeback, and it took a firm resolve from me to quit. Problem is that many of my friends are smokers. Used to smoke Ciggaretes.

Yeah I smoke also.I started when I was around 16 years old.I am sure it is bad habit, but I never felt like I want to quit. For me it is a time to relax for five minutes, while I smoke.I am sure it can be disturbing for another people , but I try to be tolerant and not smoke, if other people are not smoker or I ask them if they mind.I dont feel presssure from the message the smoking is bad, while I know it already, but how I said I don't want a quit. I am sure I wouldn't like if my kids will smoke.I hope they never will.
