I should have seen that one coming!

Last Saturday, my husband brought home several big tubs of kid-safe water color paints and coloring books for our three year old. And, of course, she wanted to play with them immediately. So, I opened up everything and spread out some newspaper on the kitchen floor and got out the big craft brushes. Before you know it, she was a real painting pro, painting the coloring book, the newspaper, even her toes. Everything got a nice coat! And, since it was the kitchen floor, I didn't worry too much about the mess. Everything's wash and wear in my kitchen. I like it that way. Makes cleaning easy. About half way through painting her second masterpiece, she announced that she needed a more comfortable place to sit. I didn't think anything of it, until she hopped up and ran into the living room and came dragging one of my couch cushions back through the paint on the floor. Honestly, you'd think I would have seen that one coming. But, I didn't! This weekend, we're off to buy slipcovers. Wish me luck!

that's how children will always be. you loved going through this experience, huh? it sounds so cute the way your child did all those things. as for those slipcovers, of course, all the luck for you, my friend. it will also do a lot of good for you to buy one or two of those plastic chairs by chicco plus a table yet and there is another popular brand, too. (i am sorry that it has slipped my mind as of thsi writing). next time that your child will need a chair and a table, you have already a good solution for it at hand.

LOL...that's a three year old for you! I remember when my older three painted a umm..."mural"... on their bedroom wall. Their reason was that they ran out of paper and HAD to use the wall! Now that #6 is scooting around a little I like to think I'm a little wiser and can expect the unexpected....until today that is when my two year old climbed up in the chair behind me while I was feeding the baby, ripped his diaper off and peed on me! He REALLY wants to potty train but just doesn't quite have the timing figured out yet! Honestly I'd skip the slipcovers and buy a few pretty blankets to cover the couch. My niece's favorite thing to color was the couch once she did it the first time. My sister finally bought a nice slipcover to cover the stains only to have it drawn on with permanent marker a week later!
