American Idol is over once again til next year and Jordin Sparks won it all. I think she is a good singer but i really dont think she was the best. And then we had the Sanjaya thing where alot of good talent got voted off while he stayed. I really thought Melinda Dolittle should have won. All in all it was one of the worst American Idols yet. What do you think of the last America Idol season? How do you think should have won and who was you hoping did? What did you think about the thing with Sanjaya? I hope next time they get there act together a little better though i do love the show.

I thought so too.I feel his Indian connection got him that far.I am an Indian too and still I felt he was not an outstanding singer.Infact his sister, who couldn't make it to the Hollywood and last round of events, was a much much better singer that Sanjaya.Infact we all were shocked to see her being rejected and instead sanjaya finding a place in the final rounds. But one thing we should not forget,it was not sanjaya, but the people who voted for him were responsible for this.Infact i used to feel bad seeing him in such a plight and being pulled frequently for none of his his faults. So much so,that even in the presidential campaign there, his name was being mentioned in a comic manner.

A lot of the people who voted for Sanjaya were doing so to screw up the competition. Howard Stern, a a shock jock, and others all urged their listeners to call in and vote for Sanjaya to throw off the competition and have the real talent go home while Sanjaya stayed.

Oh!I think it's real sad.A popular competition like this, which gives a golden opportunity to talented singers, should be respected enough.Any measure to tarnish its credibility should be strictly dealt with.

I didn't watch American Idol more than once this season, and even I got tired of Sanjaya! What is sad is that he thinks he can really sing well. At least he isn't William Hung. I didn't know what to think of Jordin Sparks until I heard her sing the national anthem yesterday night at the opening game of the NBA finals between the Spurs and the Cavs. She was amazing! While I would have voted for Melinda, I was more than impressed with the honest to goodnes talent of Jordin Sparks.

Well I don't think this was their best season for sure. I am glad that Jordin won, I think she has a great talent. My favorite season I love all the Idols and the show but I thought that this year Simon was a bit to much of a "Shock'Jock" type, Paula was too far out and Randy was so in to him self. Ryan remains the best host by far and the Sanjaya thing is just an warning that they need to fix it so that the show cannot be manipulated like that. It was against Simon not FOR Sanjaya. But- I will continue to support the show unless it's going to get worse.

I'm happy to say that it is over- I'm glad! I was getting sick of watching it- and I really enjoy it also! Jordin is great! I hope she does well- She seems like such a nice girl! I was hoping for Blake- He was one of my favorites from the beginning! I wasn't crazy over Melinda- I'm sure she will do well still without the Idol Crown- lol... I think the show kept Sanjaya on- for the publicity- Without him Idol was boring! Ratings dropped alot when he got voted out- I'm not sure how many more seasons I will watch- I'm tiring of it. I hope that we hear Jordin soon on the radio-- and not be another Taylor Hicks, or Ruben Studdard!

I agree with you. I said it over and over again to my friends week after week..."This is one of the worst seasons yet." Im sure Jordin will grow and mature and will most likely do real well. It will take time though. The talent was definitely lacking.

I liked Melinda and the girl with the short dark hair who sang SMILE.

I don't think that it was the worst season, but it wasn't the best. The best as a whole for me was Season 5. It was MUCH better than season 3, which almost caused me to stop watching the show entirely. I'm glad that I gave it a second try because I would have missed Carrie from season 4 and the great group from season 5. I think that the best 4 from this season finished on top. Had Sanjaya been voted out earlier, it may have improved the season as far as quality. I know that the ratings went down after he left, but it was really making a mockery out of the show and voting system. The show should bounce back last year. It did after season 3 and it should again next year.

I love American Idol, and while there is a part of me that wishes it was purely a singing competition, I don't think we can get away from the fact that it is largely a popularity competition. If you stand out and are likeable, you have a better chance. As well as Melinda could sing, she just didn't have that likeability factor that Jordin and Blake did. Where I do put the blame this year is on the judges, I thought it was the poorest top 12 I have seen in several seasons, you would think there would have been better talent to put in the top 12--- how Sanjaya was put in the top 12 is beyond me. If the judges really want this to be a singing competition, they need to make sure the top 12 are all talented singers. And please, please, get rid of the Latin night. The singers mutilate the songs every year.
