It's specific - it is the fourth finger on the left hand, because the ring finger, as it is called, has a vein that goes directly to the heart.
So, wearing a wedding ring on that finger is an indirect way of showing that the special person in your life is directly connected with your heart!

Ive heard a few diffrent reasons why, but i thought it was because there was a vien in that finger that goes directly to your heart

I've tried researching for that before but this is the first time I've learned there's a vein to the "ring" finger connected to the heart, i guess i was not reading well (lol!). All i can recall was it's a tradition. Other people put their wedding ring on the right hand.
