Is Garra DEAD?

After watching Naruto Shippuden 17, I was a bit shocked that Garra is supposedly dead after the bijou has been completed sucked out. Is he like dead for reals? Eliminated forever? Or he not?
I don't want it spoiled, but I just want someone to say that he's not. He's like one of my fav. characters in the anime.

he will die after the extraction of one tailed beast, however the grandmother of sasori will sacrifice her life for gaara. with the help from naruto, they were able to revive gaara..

I don't think so, apparently, Obaa-san (Tsunade) brings him back to life, plus, I love Gaara... So HOT
