Interracial Relationships

Have you ever been in one? Does it matter if people aren't of the same race? Some people claim the Bible says it's wrong (it doesn't) and mixed race couples have even been the victim of hate crimes.

I see nothing wrong with interracial relationships at all. My parents were an interracial couple technically speaking. My father is Native American and my mother is a heintz 57 (her words not mine). So I guess if you want to get technical everyone is in an interracial relationship unless you are with a member of your own family (no Jerry Springer here). Everyone is made of the same stuff we just might have a different colored skin tone. My mother use to say "love is colorblind, I wish people were" and this is how I feel.

I'm as blonde as it gets and so are my kids, but my father is part black. No one knows it, and unless you point it out, you didn't really notice it about him, but when I go to family events I usually stick our like a sore thumb because almost everyone has this gorgeous caramel colored skin, thick, wavy black hair...all I can think is "why, why didn't I get THOSE genes?" LOL

The bible doesn't say it so I don't see where it would be an issue. I never heard anyone ever say that for a reason. I've read the bible myself and it doesn't say anything about it. I have never been in one but I will say if the person is a different race but I like her a lot, I will look past that and just like her for who she is and that's it. That's how I feel on that.

Hey Shawn No it doesnt matter if your not of the same race. One thing about the bible, there are so many out now, and words have been changed to suit different religions, I dont know what to make of it... The bible for me is all the knowledge you yourself hold inside... I dont care what anyone says to that... After all this is my view

I've not once seen anything in the Bible talking about interracial relationships, let alone them being "wrong." It's just skin color - just a shell, it doesn't define what kind of person we are (ethics, morals, etc.) I'm married to a Caucasian man - is anyone here going to ask me what color MY skin is? Does it matter. Love doesn't care what color one's skin is. Those who commit hate crimes are suffering from ignorance of the true meanings of life; they are wasting theirs by being so full of hate. While our young men and women are dying in Iraq, haters are waging a war on their own country - to me, that's being somewhat of a traitor. So many people worry about make a big issue out of skin color - don't we, as a nation and a world, have much larger things to worry about? I, for one, believe so.
