the alchemist---great book or not?

this book is the first book i've read that paulo coehlo authored. it's really a great book. it made me realize that each of us have their own personal legend. it is up to us to look for it. it is within us...it is just latent. only when we focus can we find the purpose of our existence. it has some biblical aspects in it. great book! what do you think? do you agree?

Yes I've read it and I really liked the story. Just like 'little prince' it is full of adventures. A lot of places have been travelled and great things were experienced but have not found contentment in it. A continous search of life's meaning. I suggest you all guys read it. It's a ++ book from Paulo C. there! ;)

The Alchemist is a must-read book. Ever since, I read this book I come looking for the other books of Paolo Coelho. I had also read "Veronica decides to Die", it's also good since I like psychiatry as well.
I would like to collect his book because I believe they are really really inspiring and can indeed lift your spirit.

Hi, I agree with you, it's really a great book. "When you want something in your heart, the whole universe will conspire in your favor" is my favorite line in the book. It's about pursuing your dreams and you need not look far, coz your treasure could just be in your backyard.

for me it was a good book. felt it a little boring sometimes ....sometimes ..though i liked the soul of the book.

Agree.Actually it's the first foreign novel i read which is recomended by my foreign teacher.the plot is so charmful that i couldn't wait 2 read the next chapter until i've done the whole

The Alchemist is one of the best books indeed!
It was my first Paulo Coelho's book too. When I found that book in the library I had no idea that the author or the book was so famous. After and while reading that book, I felt so much better about my life. It gave me HOPE when I needed it the most! My outlook on life was highly influenced by those few words: "When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you achieve it".
It is certainly a great book!
